![]() i think the game has serious potential, just not in the hands of nwi. i think the game has a future, and ultimately a vision, even though i can't see anything differently than sandstorm - i believe that. I love insurgency, sandstorm is now my most played game on steam, but i despise the way it was treated. they have the resources to pull everything together, but i guess they're tired, but they certainly made their endeavor back. they pushed the idea they were a small 40 person team for the longest time for sympathy. i want to blame a lot of sandstorms shortcomings on mikee, who seemed to take a lot of absolutely random ideas and turn them into concepts that didn't stick that well. Sandstorm isnt a bad game, but in nearly every area where the two games differ, Insurgency comes out ahead. Step 8: The next few steps require some spelunking into Steams own. Hammer base defenses with rockets, guided missiles, and grenades. talent left, some new blood came, but the same people who made source great aren't really there anymore. If you were a Sandstorm player, I would tell you that Insurgency was enough of an upgrade to warrant the 10. If you are on PC, use Ctrl+F to find the games you love, and on mobile use the 'find in page' option from the browser menu. although i doubt they'll discontinue support this year, because if they do i'm sure there will be a significant amount of accusations that the game was a cash grab, but i don't count on anything extraordinary coming.Īlthough to understand, in some credit to the developers they were mostly source modders working on an engine they barely knew about, which led to a lot of problems, a lot of inexperience and mistakes - simple things. a lot of broken promises, delayed releases, at least the console came out at some point. ![]() new maps, new weapons, cosmetics that broke a lot of the themes the game held, it almost feels like a huge concept experiment. ![]() ![]() The way nwi treated the game like a busy parent, dropping in new toys every few months and maybe a new coat of paint on the room, without actually raising the child. bad timing, bad communication, bad approach. the most shining example of this was the disastrous 2019 competitive revival attempt, with the purple haired community manager (dara) front lining the message with a very unformulated approach right after one of the WORST updates the game saw (1.4). Sequel to the indie breakout FPS Insurgency, Sandstorm is reborn. for a long time sentiment was, halfhearted at best - bandaid solutions that didn't actually solve issues, horrible communication, and pulling in every direction by the community. Experience the intensity of modern combat where skill is rewarded, and teamwork wins the fight. Nwi milked this game to hell and back, even though sandstorm was my entrance into the series and the community i very quickly picked up on the strategy here. ![]()
